Consider the example of sewage treatment in lakes: A large decrease in nutrient flows is necessary to flip to oligotrophic. After the flip, return to the previous eutrophic state can only be accomplished by a large increase in nutrient flows.
We will hear about two different examples of these kinds of reorganizations today, Dr. Munawar will speak about reorganization in Lake Erie and Dr. Cairns about reorganization in a wetland.
